The Solution

As we know, each tree hosts many forms of life, from insects to birds, from squirrels to leopards. For example, a weaver bird lives on Phoenix sylvestris tree (ஈச்ச மரம்) and eats the fruits of that tree and builds its nests there. These birds are dependent on trees for living and especially food. On the other hand, trees are dependent on these birds for their seed Proliferation. It is an intricate dependency. If these Phoenix sylvestris tree are felled, then the weaver bird automatically loses its habitat. So felling trees is directly proportional to lose of biodiversity. Clearing of Forests and cutting down trees has been a major reason for loss of Biodiversity.

With our initiative -In a first round, we plan to bring back around 120 native forest tree species to the villages where it once belonged. This is our aim. The neglected villages of the South can turn into a booming resource providing, Medicine providing centers for people and naturally improve the biodiversity of the villages and forests around it. More and more insects, birds and other forms of life will gradually increase. With more biodiversity, the ecosystems heal faster. Goes without saying the positive effects like Carbon Sequestration effect, water Retention, Fresh air provision, improvement in soil fertility, uplifting rural economy and many more….
